Miss Universe Romania Bianca Tirsin Leads a New Generation of Beauty

 One of the largest countries in Europe, gifted with diverse culture and talent, is still gloomily finding its way through the pageant industry in the past century. Today, the country we call Romania, originally Dacia, has never won the Miss Universe title. Although 70 years have passed since the Miss Universe Finland Armi Helena Kuusela gracefully raised the inaugural crown in 1952, a new generation on the same continent is waking up to its own folkloric tune, one which spiritedly needs to tell its story.
Miss Universe Romania 2020 Bianca Lorena Tirsin is a star in the country's beauty pageants history and determined to reflect a new legacy. Her inviolable conviction and pride of her Romanian and part Serbian heritage broke the ice a little more in 2020 at the 69th Miss Universe pageant in Florida, United States. It was at the turn of the 21st century too, two decades in, when the world was calibrating or coming apart, unlike any time in history. She was determined and still is heavily involved to mark strong footprints on the sometimes frightening but exciting path towards our universal beauty crown.
Bianca is passionate about beauty, culture, education, aviation, extreme sports and has an angelic voice that genuinely echoes the beauty of her character. For Bianca, the significance of the Miss Universe Romania crown ranks among royalty, with strength and a voice that empowers the world through the lens of young women. With a portfolio of 12 beauty titles since a teenager, she has been on a journey of discovery for the past decade. It is part of her destiny and calling to raise her voice and dream bigger, past the obstacles that still encroach our generation's true vision.
Today's reflection of her success story wasn't always that clear to her as a child. A lack of self-confidence attached to an outdated Romanian education system and pedagogy created an environment in which a young Bianca didn't fit.
It is among the many reasons why during her reign, that she drafted a unique and bold agenda. To encourage the Romanian Ministry of National Education to change the K-12 curriculum to a gradeless system where children can grow and learn freely, without competitive pressures that result in failing grades, for both the students and educators. Introducing the English language in Romania's final high school exam is also part of her global Romanian citizens initiative. Bianca is still at the helms of this platform and believes that it needs to realize as part of the promising future she imagines.
She remembers how happy and proud her father was when the organization announced her Miss Universe Romania title. What a moment it was for her family! Her grandmother, who she considers a best friend, moved to Bucharest during her Miss Universe preparation to help. This Romanian generational bond further portrays that indeed, it takes a village to raise a queen.
Embodying her enthusiasm, we can't help but imagine the moment when one day, hopefully, sooner rather than later, the first Miss Romania will raise the country's beauty Olympic torch to the Miss Universe level and honorably follow in the footsteps of its perfect 10's history. It is then when pioneer beauty queens like Bianca will proudly remember having encouraged and built a sisterhood of gifted Romanian women originally born in a Dacian Kingdom.
